Here is some good news for Rajinikanth fans. His admirers may get the chance to meet the superstar between December 26 and December 31 at Raghavendra Mandapam in Chennai.

The All-India Rajinikanth Fans Association has submitted a letter to the Commissioner of Police, Chennai, on Friday, requesting security arrangements for the actor to meet his fans from December 26 to December 31 2017. The letter also stated that he would be meeting his fans from 8 am to 3 pm, and that they are expecting about 1,000 people each day.

This comes after much speculation of the superstar announcing his entry into politics on his birthday, December 12. However, he had rubbished these rumours last month by stating that he is in no hurry to start working in the field. He had also said he would be meeting his fans after his birthday.

Recently, Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath had said that his party would welcome Rajinikanth wholeheartedly and that he would put an end to Dravidian politics. In August this year, Rajinikanth’s close friend Tamilaruvi Manian, of the Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam, had stated that the actor’s entry into politics would be “very soon”.

The superstar had last met his fans between May 15 to May 19 2017. He had then said that he would join politics when the time comes. He had said at that time, “I have my profession, my job. You have your jobs to return to. Go back to your places and do your job. We will come back when it’s time for the war.”

He had also then said he is ‘Pachchai Tamizhan’, a true son of the Tamil soil. “I am always asked if I am Tamizhan. I am 66 years old. I lived for 22 years in Karnataka and for 44 years in Tamil Nadu. I may have come here as a Marathi or Kannadiga. But you all gave me love, respect and fame. You made me a Tamizhan. I am a Pachchai Tamizhan," he had said.
