Veteran actor Radha Ravi has landed a pivotal role in Vijay’s upcoming yet-untitled Tamil film with AR Murugadoss. Tentatively titled Thalapathy 62, the project marks the third time collaboration of Vijay and Murugadoss after Thuppakki and Kaththi.

It is believed that the film is being planned as a Diwali 2018 release and it might lock horns with Ajith’s Viswasam at the box-office. AR Rahman has been officially signed on for the project, which will mark his reunion with Murugadoss after the Hindi version of Ghajini.

Also starring Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar in key roles, the latest addition to the cast is actor Radha Ravi, who will be seen playing a powerful politician and will be pitted against Vijay in the film.

It is learnt from reliable sources that the film will also star Pazha Karuppaiah in the role of a politician and he will be seen playing a negative character as well. The shoot of the project is going at breakneck speed.

After filming important scenes of the film in Kolkata last month, the team recently returned to Chennai and began shooting at Madha Medical College. The team recently quashed rumours that it does not address farmer-related issues.

The makers are yet to reveal who plays the antagonist in the project. In his collaboration with Vijay in Kaththi, Murugadoss introduced Neil Nitin Mukesh to Tamil audiences and he went on to leave a mark in a very well-written role.

Girish Gangadharan, the young lensman whose recent work includes Kali and Solo, is cranking the camera. National award-winning editor Sreekar Prasad, who has worked with Murugadoss in projects such as Thuppakki and Spyder, is also part of the film.
