Despite being busy with acting assignments, Puneeth Rajkumar will be taking time off to host the reality show Kannadada Kotyadipathi on Colors TV, the Kannada version of the popular TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati, which has been hosted for many years by veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Incidentally, Puneeth hosted Kannadada Kotyadipathi in 2011 and is returning to the show after eight years. On his return, he is reported to have told TNIE, “It is a show through which I get to meet people from different parts of Karnataka, and get to listen to so many different stories. In general, I am a person who likes talking to people, and this gives me an opportunity to interact with them and know the kind of life they lead and how important money is to them.”

In the meantime, the star’s Yuva Rathna is progressing well with the team recommencing the shooting in Mysuru recently. Triveni Rao, who was seen in the recent Shiva Rajkumar starrer Tagaru, is playing an important role in this film besides Mamatha Sanathkumar, the popular woman bodybuilder from Karnataka.

According to reports, scenes involving Puneeth will be shot in various colleges Karnataka. It may be noted here that he will be appearing as a college student after nearly a decade with this Santosh Ananddram directorial. The title Yuva Rathna comes with the tagline ‘Power of Youth’, which gives an indication that the film will have a political touch. The film is bankrolled under the banner Hombale Films.

Sayyesha plays the female lead in the film, signalling her debut in the Kannada film industry. The film also has veteran Bollywood actor Boman Irani playing an important role and reports indicate that he will be playing a college principal.

Director Santosh Ananddram had earlier collaborated with Puneeth to deliver the smash hit film Rajakumaraa.
