Is publishing untrue stories journalism? Lissy lashes out at reports of remarriage

Actor Lissy has rubbished ‘exciting news reports’ that she and her former husband Malayalam film director Priyadrashan are ‘on the verge of reconciliation’.

Evidently tired of the constant media speculation over the divorce petition, she cleared the air through a Facebook post on Monday evening.

Saying that she had maintained a graceful silence so far in spite of the endless media speculation over whether she will get back with Priyadarshan, Lissy shot back:

“Clear and straight answer to that is NO and NEVER… The interviews and reports you may have read are all well SCRIPTED,” she wrote.

“If journalism is all about continuing to publish untrue stories about the personal life of a single woman and mother and harass her mercilessly for silly favours then all I can say to you is I feel sorry you have such a horrible job,” she added.

She said that three months were remaining for their joint divorce petition to come through. She also added that the domestic violence case against Priyadarshan is on hold.

She appealed to the media to stop speculating on other people’s personal lives.

In February, the couple had filed for a joint divorce petition. She had also filed a case against Priyardarshan under Domestic Violence Act in 2015.
