At the press conference held by actor-turned-politician Sumalatha before the Lok Sabha elections, Darshan mentioned the word jodethu, which means a pair of bulls. This immediately created a stir among Sandalwood producers who wanted to register the word as a title with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC). Now, guess who is the lucky producer to have the title Jodethu? Well, it is MG Ramamurthy.

The producer was quick enough to complete the registration process and get the title registered under the banner Chitra Kuteera. Talking about this, MG Ramamurthy said in an interview to Cinema Express, “Since I was the first to apply for the title request at the Film Chamber, I was able to get it.”

And that is not all! The producer has set the ball in motion for the film with the groundwork having already started. Reports say that a team is already on it working on a suitable storyline to befit the title.

In this regard, the producer said, “If the team comes up with a good story that suits the title, and if Darshan agrees, Jodethu might be our 55th film together. Right now, we are working on the script. It is going to be a commercial film from our end. Whether it will have political elements or not is something we will know after the storyboard is done.”

Meanwhile, Darshan is awaiting the release of Kurukshetra, which is directed by Naganna. It was initially planned as Darshan’s 50th film but was delayed for various reasons. Veteran producer Muniratna is bankrolling the film under his banner KCN Movies. The film’s technical crew includes V Harikrishna for music, Jayanan Vincent for camera work and Jo Ni Harsha for editing. Being a high budget film and a mythological, plans are on to release it in other languages other from Kannada, including Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, etc.
