A privilege notice was given against MP and BJP national spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao for his remarks against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Twitter by Tadikonda TDP MLA Shravan Kumar, who alleged that the MP was in contempt of the House by commenting on the Chief Minister and the Legislature. On February 2, Narasimha Rao called Naidu an ‘Assembly rowdy’ on Twitter.

Shravan Kumar wrote a letter to Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao to bring the matter to his notice, and demanded action against Narasimha Rao by referring it to the Privileges Committee. Lashing out at Narasimha Rao, Shravan Kumar said that being a member of the Rajya Sabha, Narasimha Rao “has to maintain the values to uphold the dignity of the Legislature, but he lowered the dignity of the Legislature”.

The row began unfolding with the budget session, where CM Naidu and BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju locked horns over fund allocations and assistance in the state development.

Vishnu Kumar Raju, while speaking in the Assembly earlier this week, alleged that TDP is making false statements that the BJP-led government at the Centre was not doing enough for the state.

“Though we haven't done any injustice to the state, the government is succeeding in smearing us,” said Vishnu. He also took a dig at a protest by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), when they showed up to the Assembly dressed in black.

In response, Naidu told the BJP leader that he was not fit to be a public representative.

Naidu, also the president of the TDP President, challenged Raju to show what the Centre had given to the state. He demanded to know what development south Indian states achieved during BJP’s tenure.

Responding to this, Narasimha Rao came down heavily on Naidu. Tweeting the video of an aggressive Naidu taking on BJP's Vishnu Kumar Raju, Narasimha Rao said, “It appears after seeing the way CM Chandrababu behaved, that his madness has reached its peak. In his great frustration, the CM has behaved like an ‘Assembly rowdy'. We are thinking to give notice to the CM for violation of house rights.”

In yet another tweet, which Shravan Kumar has also quoted in his letter to the Speaker, he said “A frustrated, defeatist Chandrababu Naidu has threatened BJP MLAs Vishnu Kumar Raju & Manikyala Rao in Andhra assembly y'day that @BJP4Andhra leaders will not be allowed to move in the state for exposing TDP. BJP is planning privilege motion against @ncbn".
