Prabhas will be seen in an all new avatar in his upcoming film Saaho. The star was previously seen in the Baahubali franchise, which had him sport a flawless six-pack. For this film, the actor has shed 8 kilos. He went on a strict diet of minimal carbohydrates and a lot of fruits to ensure he lost weight in a short span of time. Saaho is touted to be an action entertainer with some high octane action sequences.
Directed by Sujeeth and bankrolled by V. Vamshi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banner UV Creations on a budget of Rs 300 crores, Saaho will see Bollywood heroine Shraddha Kapoor in her debut Tollywood film. Other members of the cast include Neil Nitin Mukesh, Lal, Arun Vijay, Mandira Bedi, Jackie Shroff, Vennela Kishore, Mahesh Manjrekar and Chunkey Pandey in supporting roles. The technical crew of this film includes Shankar – Ehsaan – Loy for music and R Madhi cranking the camera, with A Sreekar Prasad editing.
Saaho is in the final stages for production with its release planned for this Independence Day on August 15th. The film’s shooting began last year and has been progressing slowly for several months due to the shooting schedules planned abroad.
According to reports the makers of this film are planning to dub the film in Japanese and release it in Japan following the immense success of Prabhas’ Baahubali in the country. Baahubali received good response in Japan and its collections at the box office grossed $1.5 million.
