Ace director Shekar Kammula is happy over the success of his latest release Fidaa, starring Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi.

The box office collections have been good and reviews have been positive.

However, in a surprising twist, the director in an interview, has reportedly revealed that he had penned the story with Pawan Kalyan in mind but never got an opportunity to narrate it to him.

Well, let’s hope that the ‘Power Star’ and Shekar Kammula get together to give the audiences an excellent entertainer in the near future.

It may be recalled here that Shekar Kammula had earlier said that he did meet Mahesh Babu to discuss the script, but the project did not materialise.

Eventually, it was producer Dil Raju who had suggested that Varun Tej would be suitable for the role and Fidaa went to the floors.

The film released on July 21, pulling the audiences to the theatres making it a big hit.

Made on a budget of Rs. 16 crore, Fidaa has managed to collect around Rs. 60 crore so far, according to the producer.

Produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Film, the movie is well into the third week at the box office with the occupancy rate at the theatres continuing to be high.

Starring Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, Fidaa happens to be the latter’s debut in the Telugu film industry.

Scoring the music for this romantic entertainer is Shakthi Kanth Karthick, who has composed tunes for the songs and JB for the Background Score. Vijay C Kumar is the cinematographer for the film and Marthand K. Venkatesh had edited it.

The entire team is happy over the success of the film particularly Varun Tej who was looking for a big break.
