Five days after four medicos were killed in the ghastly bus accident at Gollapudi in Andhra Pradesh, the Osmania Medical College (OMC) administration has constituted a five-member committee to probe all the causes, that could have led to the mishap, the Times of India reported.

This comes after hundreds of protesting medicos protested and sought a judicial inquiry against those responsible for the student deaths .

"If the committee finds anybody responsible for any administrative lapses during the `inter-medics' sports event at Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences, Amalapuram (East Godavari), we will take departmental action," Dr B Prabhakar, principal, OMC told TOI.

Earlier, four students from the Osmania Medical College died and many suffered injuries in a bus accident at Gollapudi in Krishna District in Vijayawada, as the bus was returning from KIMS Amalapuram medical college with students returning from a sports meet.

''This accident took place because of the negligence of the driver from Dhanunjaya travels. The driver was drunk and was over speeding the bus and the accident happened. All the students who were travelling in the bus requested the driver to drive slowly but he didn't listen to them. He also died on the spot,” officials told The News Minute earlier.

The driver has since been booked under various sections of the IPC.

The team has been directed by the college administration to submit its report within a week.
