Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus is also one of the active ones on Twitter. This time, he has officially shared a brief video of the forthcoming OnePlus 7 (without actually naming the model) smartphone to follow the success of OnePlus 6 and more significantly the OnePlus 6T. Teasing its new device with ‘Fast and Smooth’, Lau has told OnePlus fans to keep a tab on his twitter handle promising to reveal more about the new phone in the coming days.

The OnePlus CEO has chosen the theme ‘Fast and Smooth’ this time for the device and has commented that he finds ‘Smooth’ more challenging than ‘Fast’. It is only the interpretations of the tweet that one can rely upon to know what the CEO wishes to convey.

One such assumption us that the ‘Smooth’ refers to the 90Hz high refresh rate display. You may recall the way the teaser ads of OnePlus 6T used the words Fast and Speed extensively. It may be Fast and Smooth this time for the OnePlus 7 and possibly 7T which is generally released sometime later with some improved features.

Those who have viewed the video are not sure they can make out much since it is only a silhouette, but a bezel-free curved display is being claimed.

As reported in these columns, the speculation is rife about OnePlus launching 3 variants this year, the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7 Pro. The last could turn out to be the 5G enabled device from OnePlus, but this is yet to be confirmed. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855SoC is being predicted to be the processor in the new models with 8GB RAM support. The rear camera setup may see a 48MP sensor being included. A lot more information on the new device, including the launch date etc. has to be emerge still. Hopefully, the CEO Pete Lau himself may do the honours.
