With over 16 million hits and counting on YouTube, it’s no surprise that everyone’s trying to ride Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ wave. This time it’s Kerala’s former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, whose supporters have replaced Rajini with their 92-year-old superstar in a tweaked version of the ‘Kabali’ teaser.
Instead of a suited-up Rajini stylishly walking into the frame, the ‘Bolivia’ version has VS being helped out of his car, as the battle cry of “Nerupda” rings out. Posted on the CPI (M) leader’s official Facebook page, the remake has VS mouthing Rajini’s punch lines as he waves to his crowd of supporters. It also features arch-rival and sitting Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who naturally plays the villain in this version.
