Ittefaq co-producer Karan Johar on Monday said nothing was confirmed about the Sidharth Malhotra-Sonakshi Sinha starrer's Telugu remake.

"Well, there are negotiations going on but nothing is confirmed on Telugu remake of 'Ittefaq',” Karan said at a press conference along with director Abhay Chopra, co-producers Shah Rukh Khan and Kapil Chopra and the film cast, ahead of its release on November 3.

Ittefaq has been directed by Abhay Chopra. Based on the 1969 film by Yash Chopra, the film has been written by Abhay Chopra, Shreyas Jain, and Nikhil Mehrotra with the screenplay penned by Abhay Chopra.

The film, made on a budget of Rs. 10 crore, has been bankrolled by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Gauri Khan, Renu Ravi Chopra and Hiroo Yash Johar under the banners Dharma Productions, Red Chillies Entertainment and BR Studios. Ittefaq will be distributed by Red Chillies Entertainment.

Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha as the lead pair, the film has Akshaye, Manoj Joshi, Parul Gulati, Mir Sarwar, Shankar Yadav, Gireesh Sahedev, Himanshu Kohli, and Kimberly Louisa McBeath in supporting roles.

Music for the film has been composed by BT and Tanishk Bagchi with Michal Luka handling the camera and editing by Nitin Baid and Sangeeth Varghese.

This film is inspired by the 1969 Yash Chopra directorial Ittefaq that had Rajesh Khanna, Nanda and Iftekhar in the lead roles.

Speaking about this film, its co-producer Shah Rukh Khan told a press conference, “The important thing to know is, normally we make a lot of films, which are template driven. Most of them are similar. But I think this film will be liked and loved and appreciated for the content, more than anything else. Not any less for the acting obviously or the directions. I think the content is really important for the film. The less spoken about it, more seen and presented would be better for Ittefaq.”
