Pallavaram girl Samantha Ruth Prabhu, one of the reigning actresses of southern filmdom, has been panned quite a few times for her choice of roles over the years. From being called silly to glam doll, Sam, as she's fondly known, has always struggled to appeal to critics, despite being part of blockbusters such as Kaththi and Theri.

In her latest interview to The Hindu, Sam has made it very clear that she's done playing the cliched heroine roles and has sworn to not play such roles again. Awaiting her fourth release of the year, A...Aa, she will next be seen as a journalist in the Tamil-Telugu remake of recent Kannada thriller, U-Turn.

Her most anticipated project is upcoming Tamil film, Vada Chennai, in which she will be seen as a slum-dweller.

In A...Aa, which releases in cinemas on Thursday, she has attempted a comic role for the first time in her career.
