The News Minute | February 23, 2015 | 10.40 AM ISTCPI(M) has formed its new state committee in Kerala. As of now eighty six members have been named to the committee with a strength of eighty seven. The newly formed committee has elected Kodiyeri Balakrishnan as its State Secretary. Another important aspect is that the Leader of Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan has not been included in the state committee. The 93-year-old leader and former Chief Minister had walked out of the state conference on Saturday. It was being said that the leader may resign from the party itself. Achuthanandan, in his latest press note, has said that he will not attend the state conference on Monday. "I cannot attend a state conference which passed a resolution stating that I indulge in anti-party activities," his note mentioned. He has also re-iterated his demands he had earlier made to the party. Achutanandan has insisted that the party should take action against three members who were behind the murder of rebel leader TP Chandrasekhar in 2012. "In spite of my demand, two of these leaders have been given party posts," he says.Achutanandan says in press note that he has informed General Secretary Prakash Karat about his decision to not attend the state committee meeting. Read - CPI-M says what Achutanandan did was wrong, gives last and final call to veteranCPI(M) snubs, will Achutanandan leave his party?TweetFollow @thenewsminute
