It is learnt from sources in the tinsel town that Nayanthara has been approached for an important role in Kurukshetra. The Kannada film, which will be the highest budget movie in Sandalwood, is all set to go on the floors on July 23 and the team is busy with the pre-production work. While it is confirmed that Darshan will be playing Duryodhana and V Ravichandran will be seen as Krishna, the female lead in it may be Nayanthara.

Nayanthara, despite being in the film industry for more than a decade, has so far starred in just one Kannada movie, Super, and that was way back in 2011. It may be mentioned that the actor got to play Seetha in the epic Telugu movie Sri Rama Rajyam, which won her a lot of accolades and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu.

Directed by Naganna, Kurukshetra will be produced by popular producer Muni Ratna. Incidentally, it will go on the floors on the producer’s birthday, July 23. Naganna and Darshan had worked together in Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna and the film was a hit. Kurukshetra will mark their second collaboration together.

On making the magnum opus, its producer Muni Ratna was quoted by the New Indian Express as saying, “The preparations are on. As of now we have only confirmed Darshan, who will be seen as Duryodhana. The rest of the cast will be finalised in a month’s time. I have placed no limit on the budget. It will be decided during its making and this will be made to suit Indian standards.”

If reports about Nayan’s comeback to Sandalwood with one of the biggest projects turn out to be true, it is going to be a treat for all her fans. The gorgeous actor is very selective about her projects and it needs to be seen if she would hop aon board.
