The News Minute | October 15, 2014 | 6.10 pm ISTThe National School of Design in Ahmedabad is in the process of altering its rules to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling on according the status of third gender to transgeders.According to The Indian Express, the NID started its admission process for the year 2015-16 in October and tests will be held in January.“We will offer the option of transgender in the admission form; so that applicants can specify the same. Currently, we are in a transition phase where we have to create ordinances to bring about few changes in the institute post our new status. For now, we will have to check with the SC ruling for more details on how to go about implementing this,” Vijaya Deshmukh, registrar, of NID told The Indian Express.
