The News Minute | January 11, 2015 | 8:40 am IST The TDP government is planning a quick response to Washington for the request to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on developing Visakhapatnam as a smart city. US officials had earlier met with AP government officials on Friday and handed over a letter which expressed the willingness of Washington to develop Ajmer, Allahabad and Vizag into smart cities, a report in the Times of India adds. The chief minister is expected to send his consent immediately so as to make the process official and fast track the project. There are also good chances of Chandrababu Naidu meeting Obama if the MoU is signed during the latter’s visit to India this month. After the MoU is signed, the US nodal agency for the project is expected to take a team of officials from AP to the US to study smart cities such as Seattle, Boston, Washington D.C, New York etc.
