The teaser of the Nagarjuna starrer Officer is out! From the teaser, it is evident that director Ram Gopal Varma and Nagarjuna have teamed up for a cop thriller which will be high on action elements.

Releasing the teaser online, the director wrote: “I always saw @iamnagarjuna as larger than life intensity personified but having a classical demeanour about him..#Officer is a testimony of that.”

In another tweet, he said: “Cops Were Never This Scary: @iamnagarjuna and @Myrasareen1 are just two of the many deadly and dangerous cops in #Officer.”

Though the teaser promises the film to be high on action, nothing much about the storyline has been revealed. With the director playing his cards close to his chest, fans need to wait for its release to know more.

Interestingly, RGV and Nagarjuna have worked together much earlier in their careers in three films – Shiva, Govinda Govinda and Antham. Shiva, their first venture together, was an action crime drama that fetched the director the Nandi Award for Best Director, the Nandi Award for Best First Film of a Director, Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu, and others. Incidentally, that was RGV’s directorial debut as well.

Their upcoming film, Officer, will have Nagarjuna playing a cop pitted against a don ruling the Mumbai mafia. Of course, the film will have oodles of action sequences, which will be its highlight, say sources. With three films to their credit already, movie buffs hope that Officer will also turn out to be a massive hit. The last time they worked together was in Antham, which released nearly 25 years ago.

Nagarjuna was last seen in Ohmkar’s horror comedy Raju Gari Gadhi 2, which was produced by Prasad V Potluri under the PVP Cinema, Matinee Entertainments and OAK Entertainments banners. The film also starred his daughter-in-law Samantha Akkineni. Meanwhile, director Ohmkar recently confirmed that a sequel to RGG2 is on the cards, which is likely to fall under the thriller entertainer genre.

Officer, scheduled for release on May 25, has Myra Sareen playing the female lead. The film has been bankrolled by Ram Gopal Varma and Sudheer Chandra.
