The incident occurred near the Shri Rama Vidya Samsthe in Kalladka, Bantwal taluk. Owing to communal conflagrations in the last few months, the district police had installed CCTV cameras in “sensitive locations”. Even though the incident had not occurred in the vicinity of the cameras, the footage would be examined to see if “any movement of suspects” had been recorded, Sharanappa said. The time of the assault is unclear as the jurisdictional police say they had “no information” and asked this correspondent to call back later.
