Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who was speaking at the Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru on Wednesday, faced a tough moment when the students emphatically disagreed with him over the effectiveness of the Swachch Bharat campaign.

He was addressing the about 2500 student in the college. The 45 minutes spent there was largely a question-answer session.

Students asked him questions ranging from safety for women, education, how effective is the central government was, policies etc. When he asked if Swachch Bharat was working, a majority in the crowd responded by saying that it was. He moved on after saying that he does not think it is working.

Top ten things he said:

"They are slashing education, health care expenditure and by the way there are no jobs."

However, half of the students could be heard disagreeing with him.

"We very strongly believe in  the  Goods and Services Tax Bill, but one which has a cap on tax, not the one in which there is an unlimited amount of tax on the people of India. We are not stalling the GST bill, it is infact the BJP which is."

"We tried to support the Northeast region and give them special status and BJP has removed that status."

“We (Congress) )will start a conversation with Irom Sharmila: Rahul Gandhi when asked why Cong doesnt initiate conversation with Sharmila"

“I was quite surprised when the PM announced the Naga Accord, but the CM nor the home minister knew anything about it. In the end it was revealed that no accord was signed!”

“All the government is doing right now is giving contracts to large business people, that too very few of them. It's actually much worse that suit boot ki Sarkar, it is five-six suit boot ki Sarkar.”
