The Malayalam film Villain, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, will be dubbed and released in Telugu on March 21st. The Telugu version is titled Puli Judham. With its lead star enjoying a good fan base in Tollywood, the makers of Villain have decided to release the film in Telugu even though it is two years since the Malayalam movie had come out.
The film had a historical opening on October 27th, 2017 with its first day box office collection standing at Rs 4.91 crore. According to reports from the Kerala box office, the film had collected Rs 2.81 crore the next day.
Villain is a crime thriller that has Mohanlal playing an ex-cop with the cast including a bevy of actors including the Tamil actor Vishal, who made his debut in the Malayalam film industry with this film. Manju Warrier played the female lead in the film. According to the imdb, the film deals with a killer who teases the entire police department with his flawless crimes, gets chased by a retired stylish cop (Mohanlal) whose past influences the killer's future, with the cat and mouse game getting out of hand.
Hansika Motwani and Raashi Khanna also made their debut in the Mollywood with Villain. Directed by B Unnikrishnan, the film was produced by Rockline Entertainments under the banner Rockline Entertainme nts Pvt Ltd.
Shot with the 8K resolution camera, it is the first Indian movie to be released in the 8K resolution format giving the audiences a great viewing experience. Sushin Shyam has composed the film’s background score while the original soundtrack has been done by the music group 4 Musics comprising Jim Jacob, Biby Matthew, Eldhose Alias, and Justin James. Manoj Paramahamsa and NK Ekambaram worked as the cinematographers for this film with Shameer Mohammed editing it.
