One of the most anticipated movies in Mollywood, Mohanlal starrer Villain is doing great pre-release business. According to the latest reports, the film’s satellite rights have been sold for a humongous Rs. 7 crores. Surya TV has shelled out the price for this magnum opus, which has been directed by B Unnikrishnan.

Sources in the trade say that the amount is the highest paid for the satellite rights of any movie in the Malayalam film industry. It may be mentioned here that Villain’s music rights and Hindi dubbing rights have been sold out for a huge price.

Reports say that its music rights have been bagged by Junglee Music for Rs. 50 lakhs while the Hindi dubbing rights have been sold for Rs. 1 crore.

The magnum opus, touted to be a neo-noir action mystery thriller, has been directed by B Unni Krishnan with Rockline Venkatesh producing it under his banner Rockline Entertainments Pvt Ltd. The film has been made on a budget of Rs. 30 crores.

Villain will have Manju Warrier pairing up with Mohanlal while the star cast includes Siddique, Renji Panicker, Srikanth, Aju Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Vinayakan, Anand, Idavela Babu and Kottayam Nazeer in supporting roles.

Three stars from the Tamil and Telugu film industries, Vishal, Raashi Khanna and Hansika Motwani, will be making their debut in the Malayalam film industry. Villain will be high on the action quotient with the filmmakers including some gravity defying stunt sequences.

Expectations from this film ranked high, with its teaser that was released in April this year clocking one million views within just three hours of its release.

The songs in the album have been composed by 4 Kinds of music with the BGM by Sushin Shyam. Manoj Paramahamsa had cranked the camera for this flick with Shameer Mohammad editing it. Villain will be the first movie in India to be made and released in 8K format.
