The  News Minute | December 10, 2014 | 11.58 pm ISTThe Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday submitted an interim report to the state government stating that 14-year-old Nandita from Tirthahalli had committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance.The News Minute | December 10, 2014 | 11.35 pm ISTAccording to the report in Prajavani, Nandita had changed from Kannada medium to English medium in High school. Being a rank holder in the past, she found it difficult to cope with her studies which led to her taking her own life.The incident which occurred on October 30, had drawn protests from opposition parties and the parents had urged for a CID probe. Nandita had told her father Krishnamurthy that she was kidnapped by a few unknown youths. Following this, Krishnamurthy had lodged an FIR with the Tirthahalli police station which was later handed over to the CID.“Nandita was not kidnapped by anyone nor there was no sexual harassment too. Since her grades had fallen, she was dejected and she went to Anandgiri betta and consumed poison,” said CID DGP Bipin Gopalakrishna.
