Until June 14, no one within the Indian media gave two hoots about former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi. We would see him whenever Times Now had to go after N Srinivasan, seemingly ranting about how he had been wronged. That Sunday morning, Sunday Times and Times Now ran a story which put MEA Sushma Swaraj in the loop with Modi and Ketih Vaz. Later, Vasundhara Raje’s name was outed. Since, it has been a slugfest within the country, with Modi chucking allegations on Twitter, Instagram and his website from far away Montenegro. It would be an understatement to say that the names Modi has taken are high-profile, they literally constitute the movers and shakers in the country. And while the creator of the IPL has already called it a “war”, here is the list of those who Modi has taken his battles to: 1.) Arun Jaitley: Holder of three portfolios including the Finance Ministry, he would certainly be the most high-profile name. From allegations of being in cahoots with BCCI members to impropriety in the hockey league with even his daughter Sonali Jaitley dragged in, he has also been labelled the “Congressi” by Modi for his erm… connections. Modi has really gone after Jaitley, considering the names that crop up in the list due to their relations with him. 2.) P Chidambaram: The former FM, Modi has levelled allegations of Chidambaram trying to keep him out of the country and stranded in the UK. The Congressman even held a press conference and threw his own list of questions back at Modi. 3.) Pranab Mukherjee: The President of the country, formerly the Finance Minister in the UPA government, has been pulled up by Modi for allegedly ordering an ED probe into his IPL deals in the aftermath of Shashi Tharoor’s ouster from the Union Cabinet in 2010.  4.) Vineet Jain and the Times Group: Modi didn’t take too kindly to Arnab Goswami going after him on primetime, it would seem. The MD of BCCL Vineet Jain has been allegedly blackmailing Modi, and he has outed snapshots of their email correspondence. 5.) N Srinivasan: Modi clearly bears a grouse with the under-fire ICC chairman, and has accused him for being one of the reasons for his ouster from the BCCI. Also, for being part of the “old boys club” of the BCCI along with Rajeev Shukla, Jaitley and Jagmohan Dalmiya. 6.) Rajiv Shukla: The former IPL chairman and Union Minister has been questioned by Modi with regard to the sponsorship of his private jet trips. Also for being in the “old boys club” of the BCCI. 7.) Shobhana Bhartia: Modi has asked the Chairperson and Editorial Director of the Hinudustan Times group to not take it personally, but has questioned her relations with Jaitley and the late Madhav Rao Scindia. 8.) Anurag Thakur: The BJP MP and secretary of the BCCI has been inducted into a “gang of five” by Modi, him being the addition to the “old boys club”. 9.) Shashi Tharoor: The Congress MP has been named by Modi regarding his late wife Sunanda Pushkar’s murder case and his relations with Jaitley. 10.) Congressmen and a woman: This is a long list and so required clubbing together. Modi has named a lot of people from the Congress party asking them to disclose any cash or favours received from his family. The list includes Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Sitaram Kesri, Motilal Vohra, Sachin Pilot, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Satish Sharma. 11.) Brokers and businessmen: Modi has not hesitated in shelling out names here too. From calling Vivek Nagpal a “hawala” operator to giving out names of Jaitley’s “team members”, Bhupen Yadav and Narendra Batra. 12.) Jawaharlal Nehru: One of the oldest Congressmen was not spared either. india's 1st Prime Minister with my grandfather #raibhadurgujarmalmodi #padmabhushan at my house in #Modinagar pic.twitter.com/KWhpLEEMJV — Lalit Kumar Modi (@LalitKModi) June 23, 2015
