The News Minute | November 26, 2014 | 8:40 am IST Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi on Tursday, raised concerns over the rising drug peddling menace in the Old City, a prominent area in Hyderabad. Owaisi, during the zero hour in the assembly claimed that a lot of young people were falling prey to the drug mafia as there was no check on them. According to a report in the Times of India, he also added that the government should keep a strict vigil to curb ‘over the counter’ drugs and enact a strict law to stop the sale of such drugs without the doctor’s prescription. The deputy chief minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali responded on a positive note and assured that the government would take all required steps.
