The News Minute | September 13, 2014 | 06:53 pm ISTDays after the brouhaha created on social media by a Facebook post which falsely stated that Merin Joseph was the new ACP of Kochi- Joseph, an IPS officer in training, is said to have deleted her Facebook account. It seems Joseph was advised by friends to keep away from the 'public space' for sometime. The deletion of her account comes at a times when a few new Facebook pages have sprouted claiming to be fans of 'Merin Joseph IPS'.One such page Merin Joseph IPS, was created on September 11, and has already got 34,406 likes. The page is dedicated to and also maintained by 'fans' of Merin Joseph. The page uses many of the photographs that were earlier seen on her personal account. There are two more Facebook pages in Merin Joseph's name, while one has 9,921 likes, the other has more than 11,000 likes. Read: Latest victim of sexism on Facebook- Merin Joseph IPSAnother Merin Joseph account created on September 13 has 195 likes. This also claims to be an 'Official Facebook Page'.Apart from the false claim that she was the new ACP of Kochi, what fueled the issue were the comments that her picture received from many viewers. Most wanted the 'gorgeous' officer to 'arrest' them immediately.
