Filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar, who entered Bollywood with ‘Shaitaan’ is all set to come with his new Hindi film which will be a remake of Mani Ratnam's blockbuster film of 1988 Agni Natchathiram.

Produced by Madras Talkies, Agni Natchathiram was a blockbuster and completed a 200-day run at the box office.

Sources say Bejoy is working on a contemporary version of the film. He got the official rights from Mani Ratnam, and has finished the script.

The shooting of the remake will start soon after the required changes are made in the script.

Another of Mani Ratnam’s movies, OK Kanmani’s official Hindi remake titled OK Jaanu is being directed by Shaad Ali with Adithya Rai Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead.

The shooting commenced in March 2016 and is scheduled for a worldwide release in December 2016. The film is produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions.

Music for the film will be composed by AR Rahman, who had also worked on the original, with lyrics by Gulzar.
