Even as filmmaker Mani Ratnam wraps up his “Kaatru Veliyidai”, starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari, a source says that the director and the actor may team up again soon. With “Kaatru Veliyidai” hitting the screens worldwide in March, the duo may kick off the next project next year.

Although it’s too premature to talk about any details of the project, it is believed that Karthi strongly wishes to work with the “Roja” filmmaker again.

“They casually discussed the possibility of teaming up again. They don’t even have a story to work towards and ensure the project materialises. It’s just a thought and it might just fizzle away with time but they’ve expressed an interest to reunite,” a source said.

The source also confirmed that shooting for “Kaatru Veliyidai” has been wrapped up, except for some final patch work. The film is a romantic action film, and has been shot in some exotic locations including Ooty, Kashmir and Belgrade.

“Kaatru Veliyidai” also stars Shraddha Srinath, RJ Balaji and Delhi Ganesh and features music by AR Rahman, and Ravi Varman behind the camera. Produced by Sri Thenandal Films, the film will be dubbed and released in Telugu as “Duet”.
