For the first time, Actor Karthi will join hands with Director Mani Ratnam. Karthi, in the early stages of his film career met Mani Ratnam, who offered him the role of Arjun (later played by Siddharth) in the film Aayutha Ezhuthu. But he declined the offer and worked as an assistant director on the same film and its Hindi version Yuva as he wanted to become a director.
Karthi will play a pilot and the film will co-star Sai Pallavi of Premam fame as a doctor. AR Rahman will compose music and Ravi Varman will helm cinematography.
Film maker Director Mani Ratnam was earlier said to be making a multi-starrer with Karthi, Dulquer Salmaan and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles but Mani Ratnam had gone on to change the script and it is no longer a multi-hero film.
The story is said to happen in Kashmir and the plot based on Kashmiri terrorist similar to the veteran director's 1992 blockbuster Roja, which bagged many awards.
