Goodalochana, directed by Thomas Sebastia, which has Dhyan Sreenivasan playing the main lead, also has Niranjana Anoop and Aju Varghese in the star cast. And the star cast just got interesting with Mamta Mohandas being roped in for a cameo.

Confirming her role in the film, Mamta was quoted by the Times of India as saying, “It is something similar to what I did in Varsham. I have a cameo in Manju Warrier's Udaha-ranam Sujatha as well, which is also an important character.”  When asked about her decision to pick up cameos, the actor said that all she wanted to do was to stay connected with the film industry which keeps her busy. She said, “Well, it's not a preference, but at the moment I am in Los Angeles, and so it is hard for me to take up all the films that I'm getting. I've had to turn down quite a few. I'm in touch with work, which is important for me and I have always been someone who likes to stay busy. I miss being part of a film unit; it's a while since I did Thoppil Joppan.” Goodalochana is currently in the post-production mode.

While Mamta’s last outing was Thoppil Joppan, she is currently busy with two Malayalam films Detroit Crossing and Carbon. While in Detroit Crossing she will be sharing the screen space with Prithviraj Sukumaran, in Carbon it will be Faahadh Faasil.

On her role in Detroit Crossing, the actor said, “Everyone and everything in the film is looking for second chances, including Detroit city. My character is a dancer but dance is a means for her to escape and a passion, and it's not what adds to the story. She communicates unspoken stuff through dance.”
