During the audio launch of Srimanthudu, Mahesh Babu had announced that he will be adopting his native village, Burripalem in Guntur under the smart village program.

As promised, the star is all set to begin the developmental work in the area. With Mahesh Babu busy with his upcoming bilingual Brahmotsavam, his family members will be visiting the village this morning, March 17, 2016 at around 10 am, confirm sources.

Mahesh Babu’s actress wife Namrata Shirodkar, son Gautham, daughter Sitara and other family members will be visiting Burripalem and take stock of the situation there. Apart from interacting with the locals to know of their problems, the team will also visit the local clinic, school and other important places that need immediate attention.

Sources say that some of the major problems faced by this village include lack of bus facilities, clean drinking water and drainage facilities among other things.

Burripalem, a small village located in the Guntur District, is the birthplace of Mahesh Babu’s dad and veteran actor Krishna. Galla Jayadev, the MP representing Guntur, happens to be Mahesh Babu’s brother-in-law, it may be noted here. The star’s elder sister, Padmavathi, wife of Galla Jayadev, has adopted Kancharlapalem, another village in the same district, it may be mentioned here.
