The News Minute | March 4, 2015 | 09.20 am ISTOver 300 students and professors belonging to different departments of the Cheupauk campus at University of Madras gheraoed the Vice Chancellor R Thandavan at his office on Tuesday. Some of the issues being addressed included lack of drinking water and poor sanitation facilities for ladies, reported The New Indian Express. More complaints included a demand for better Wifi connectivity and preservation of traditional books at the university. Despite attempts by the VC’s staff to remove the protestors from the location in front of his office, the students refused to budge, reported Times of India.
