When Mohanlal aka Lalettan takes on a role, he doesn’t just create a character, he makes an archetype.
It could be the loverboy, Shyam, who spectacularly fails to play the field in Priyadarshan’s “Boeing Boeing” or the eccentric psychiatrist, Dr Sunny, who treads the line between science and the paranormal in Fazil’s classic “Manichitrathazhu”. Or it could be Jagannathan, the “Aaram Thamburan” who deals out justice with a fair hand and brings peace to the land.
Whatever role Lalettan plays, it sticks in your mind in ways only Lalettan’s characters could.
So how best to distill the essence of each character? Just make a Minion out of them all.
