As the State government has failed to initiate action against its officials, the Lokayukta has now sent 48 special reports to the Governor in the last one year, said Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao.He also said that the Lokayukta office had sent 184 reports under Section 12(3) of Lokayukta Act to the government recommending enquiry against government officials."In as many as 48 reports, the government has not taken any action against officials. I have sent special reports to the Governor. The Governor would send it to the government and the same will be placed before the Assembly for action," the Lokayukta was quoted by Deccan Herald.Speaking to the reporters, Justice Rao said since he took charge, the number of pending cases had reduced from 4,568 to 930 at present.He also said that the Lokayukta had disposed off 6,836 complaints in the last two years and 184 reports had to be sent to the government to take action.The institution had also held departmental inquiries in 13 cases and in a few, recommendations were made for compulsory retirement of errant officials, he added.Read more at: http://www.deccanherald.com/content/477241/48-spl-reports-submitted-guv.html
