Loan sharks in the Old City area of Hyderabad have started a new trend of threatening female family members of the debtors.

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, instead of rowdy sheeters, the Illegal financier's are now using women to threaten the debtors or relatives of the family in Old City. 

The South Zone police had caught 29 men on Monday, and a woman from Hussaini  Alam and a special team also identified seven women who were working for the financiers. They went absconding when their employees were caught.

Alleging harassment by the groups of women, six woman have approached the police until now, alleging that the women would enter the houses and abuse the wives or sisters of the debtors.

V Satyanarayana, DCP of South Zone, told DC “They would use all kinds of abusive words to harass and threaten the female members of the family. Because their husbands took money from financiers, these women had to face the abuse.” 

The groups are reported to be active in areas like Chatrinaka and Falak-numa, from where most of the complaints came from.

The police also found that financiers are now lending money only after taking documents of property, so that if the interest payments are delayed, they can grab their properties.
