Just days after the Bharat Bandh – called by Dalits over the Supreme Court’s recent guidelines against the ‘misuse’ of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act – various Dalit groups in Kerala are now conducting a hartal on Monday.
The dawn-to-dusk hartal is being organised to protest the injustice meted out to Dalits in the country by dilution of the Act, which was created to protect Dalits.
