Have your parents ever told you that if you only woke up early in the morning, everything in your life would get a lot better? Or grumbled that you eat too much junk food, and that’s the source of everything that’s wrong in your life?
Welcome to the life of an Indian kid, age no bar. Kicking off the proof that all Indian parents have a one-stop solution for all of life’s problems was comedian and AIB member Tanmay Bhat. The universal solution his mother favours is – breathing exercises.
What followed was a hilarious Twitter thread, with dozens offering Tanmay their parents’ one-line problem solving manuals. What’s amazing is just how many parents seem to have got the same parenting scripts in the country:
Phone = the root of all evil
If there’s one thing older generations don’t get about Millenials, it’s how attached the latter are to their phones. No surprises, then, that phones were among the main roots of all evil in the world.

Home remedies always work
Have gas? Take ajwain. Upset stomach? Bitter gourd juice. Anything else? There’s always ‘drink lots of water’.

Wake up early to solve life’s problems
There’s no denying that our lifestyles have gone for a toss what with long working hours, food ordering apps and affordable online streaming options.
Solution? Wake up early. And of course, going for GIMW or the Great Indian Morning Walk.
@thetanmay Not the GIMW? "Great Indian Morning Walk"

‘Meditation’ is the golden word
If all else fails, all your life’s questions will be answered if you close your eyes and meditate, according to these parents.
