The LG Q8 comes with an IP67 certification, meaning it is water resistant up to under 1.5 meters deep water for around 30 minutes.

The market has been anticipating LG’s next smartphone V30, the company has just released a ‘Q’ series phone the LG Q8. This smartphone has been released only in Italy this week and the details of the launch schedule in the other markets are awaited. This phone also has many specs and features that are found in the LG V20.

The LG Q8 has dimensions that read 149 x 71.9 x 8 mm and its weight is 146gms. The phone comes with a 5.2inch IPS LCD display offering a screen resolution of 1440x2560pixels and a density of 564ppi. The screen gets protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 4. There is also a secondary display with a resolution of 160x1040p and it remains always on.

The main processor in the LG Q8 smartphone is the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and the GPU, Adreno 530. The support it receives is in the form of 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. A microSD card can be inserted to expand the memory to 256GB. Android Nougat version 7.0 will be the OS and riding over it is the LG UX 5.0.  

The camera setup has a dual sensor combination of 13MP and 8MP with the lenses having aperture sizes of f/1.8 and f/2.4 respectively. The front camera is 5MP in size and the lens has an aperture size of f/1.9. These specs are lower that what the LG V20 had and similarly, the battery fitted on the LG Q8 is of 3000mAh, smaller that on the LG V20.

Another distinction from the V series phone is that the LG Q8 has an IP67 certification. This means that the phone will not get damaged even if it is under 1.5meters deep water for around 30minutes. There is a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel below the camera and the LG Q8 is equipped with the full range of connectivity options.

The company has just made an announcement of the launch of the smartphone in Italy and the exact date of the physical release of the device and its price are yet to be revealed. One will also have to wait to know if the phone is being brought to the Indian market.
