Come September, the battle for supremacy of the smartphone stack will be fully on. One will witness Apple make all the noises at its annual event, which also happens to be the 10th anniversary for iPhones. Samsung will then follow suit with its flagship. LG wants to be part of this battle and it has showcased its next flagship, the LG V30 at the IFA event. Though a lot has been speculated about this phone, here are some more authentic information about the LG V30.

This is a 6-inch display phone with a screen to body ratio of 18:9 and the display is defined as OLED FullVision. The screen resolution of 2880x1440p and a density of 538ppi makes it top draw on the display front.

The significant factor is that the phone is just 7.3mm thick and its weight 158 grams. It is not surprising, therefore, that LG claims that this would be the lightest 6-inch phone ever.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835SoC will be the processor powering the LG V30 and 4GB RAM perks up the performance quotient of the smartphone. The indications are that there will be two variants; one with 64GB ROM and the other LG V30+ with 128GB ROM. The microSD slot option will enable the storage to be taken right up to a whopping 2TB.

The OS will be the Android Nougat version 7.1.2 and there should be no doubt on the update to the Android Oreo happening soon. A 3300mAh battery is the energy source for the LG V30.

LG wants to lay emphasis on its foray into a dual camera setup in the rear with a 16MP sensor plus a 13MP sensor. The larger lens has a standard configuration and the smaller is a wide angle one. Significantly the aperture on the 16MP camera of f/1.6 is considered the best in the business when one takes into account the cameras fitted on high-end smartphones. In the front, there is a wide-angle 5MP camera for selfies.

The phone also has the IP68 certification which means it is both water and dust resistant.

Some of the other important features on this LG flagship will include: wireless charging facility; voice recognition software, which gives an additional protection since secret keyword can be uttered to unlock the device; fingerprint sensor and so on.

The connectivity options are complete and so are the sensors.

The phone is being released in some unique colours; aurora black, cloud silver, moroccan blue, and lavender violet.

The presence of Google Assistant will also be another big plus for the LG V30 and the users can get a lot of help from the voice based digital assistant. It has been highlighted that if the user says “OK Google take a wide-angle selfie”, the camera app with the front camera operational in the wide-angle mode will be activated. What more can you expect?

The exact pricing for the new phone is yet to be revealed. However, speculators believe it could be pegged at around the $750 mark (roughly Rs 48, 000). The phone is expected to ship in September 2017.
