Homegrown mobile maker Lava has just launched simple 4.5-inch smartphone at a reasonable price level of Rs 6, 099. There are, however, reports that suggest the phone can be picked up for around Rs 5, 000 even.

The display in the Lava A77 is of 4.5-inches WVGA with a resolution of 480x800pixels. The main processor is a quad-core chipset clocking a speed of 1.3GHz. The phone comes with an internal memory of 8GB and a RAM of 1GB which is pedestrian by today’s standards. The external storage can, however, be expanded to 32GB through a microSD card. The OS is the Android 6 Marshmallow.

The Lava A77 has been fitted with identical 5MP cameras in the front and rear, both. Interestingly Lava has furnished a LED flash with both cameras. According to the company, the phone has the unique feature in the imaging section where the rear camera has the capability to capture videos and shoot pictures at the same time.

The battery is a removable 2000mAh rated one, again establishing that this is a phone meant for the lower end of the segment.  

As mentioned, the Lava A77 comes with the 4G VoLTE connectivity feature as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the accelerator sensor. And it is a dual SIM phone.

The phone is being sold in three colors; blue, gold and grey.

In other news from Lava the company has already launched a couple of phones Lava Z10 and Lava Z25 which are at levels higher than the Lava A77 and are priced at Rs 11, 500 and Rs 18, 500 respectively. The customers definitely have a choice in an Indian brand of smartphones.
