A day after Congress President Rahul Gandhi attacked the TRS-led Telangana government stating that Telangana is exploited by family-rule and corruption is rampant, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, KT Rama Rao took to Twitter to hit back at him.

“You talk about corruption Rahul Ji? Look around on the Dias; half the people sitting next to you are out on bail !! Some in CBI cases & others in corruption cases Oh, I forgot it’s the “Scamgress” party A for Adarsh B for Bofors C for Commonwealth..... Want me to go on Sir?? (sic), KTR said.

KTR took on the Congress and Rahul Gandhi in a series of tweets.

“Rahul Ji, Do you know who you were paying homage to at Telangana Martyrs memorial? It was the same 369 youth Indira Gandhi had ruthlessly shotdown in 1969 agitation & hundreds of youth that’ve killed themselves from 2009-14 as UPA reneged on its promise Care to offer Apologies?”

The Congress President, who was on a two-day visit to Telangana, paid homage to martyrs and addressed a gathering at Saroornagar stadium on Tuesday.

At the event, Rahul Gandhi said that the corruption in the state has been disguised as ‘redesigning’ and accused the TRS government of failing in keeping their poll promises.

“The CM had promised of 1 lakh employment to the youth. Today everyone knows that not even 10,000 were employed in the last four years. There has been no job notification, neither recruitment,” he said on Tuesday.

He also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Rafale deal, alleging corruption and said that even the Telangana CM was good at masking corruption.

Rahul alleged that the costs of projects were increased exponentially in the name of redesigning.

“In Telangana, your CM is also good at redesigning. There are no tenders and transparency on projects, all the money is going to a single family,” he had said, referring to KCR’s family.

Responding to Rahul’s allegations, KTR wrote, “You preached about freedom of expression & media freedom @RahulGandhi Ji? Wah On the eve of Independence Day, let me remind you of independent India’s one & only Emergency? Who had stifled the democratic voices & snubbed all democratic values? Is it not your Scamgress party?”
