The News Minute | November 23, 2014 | 4.30 pm IST The loss-making Kerala State Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has decided to promote graduates and post graduates among its employees in order to “professionalize” the services. The corporation has begun the process to identify such employees who are graduates and post graduates and to promote a part of them to senior posts notwithstanding their lesser years of service. The effort is to include qualified personnel in crucial decision making. “The effort is to identify staff with higher educational qualifications. A new scheme has been finalized under which 25 per cent of vacancies to key posts will be filled following the current criteria (weightage to experience) while 15 per cent will be open to internal candidates possessing high educational qualifications. This is part of the efforts to make the corporation professional,” the Deccan Chronicle reported a senior KSRTC official. For the direct recruitment, candidates with a management degree would be given preference. As a first step, employees with a law degree are being considered to be posted in the law section of the corporation. An order has been circulated to collect the details of such employees.
