The Crime Branch of the Kerala Police will probe a complaint lodged by M. Shankar Raman, brother of late actress Srividya, that former minister and legislator K.B. Ganesh Kumar did not execute her will even nine years after her death. Director General of Police K.N. Balasubramanian told IANS that the decision has been made and the orders for it will come in the coming days. "The Crime Branch will now constitute a team for it and there is no time frame that has been given to complete the probe," he said. Srividya, after a three-decade-long career in the south Indian film industry, passed away in 2006 after battling cancer. She had made Ganesh Kumar an executor of her will. Reacting to the news, Raman told IANS that it was good news and he was happy. "Does it take nine years for a will to be executed. Now, we will wait and see," he said. Earlier this week, Chennai-based Raman and his wife met Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala seeking a probe into the matter. According to Srividya's will, Raman's two sons are entitled to Rs.5 lakh each. The will mentions assets which include properties in Chennai, a good quantity of gold, silver, and cash deposits in banks and post offices.  Ganesh Kumar has maintained silence on the matter.
