In an interview given to Asianet News on Friday, Kerala Agriculture Minister and Janata Dal (U) leader KP Mohan has asked party chief MP Veerendra Kumar to discern CPI(M) politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan’s hidden agenda to lure JD(U) away from the ruling front.

The Minister was referring to the recent incident of Veerendra Kumar and Pinarayi sharing the same dais at the former’s book-release function held in Thiruvananthapuram.

Pinarayi had then openly asked JD(U) to return to the Left fold, an option which Veerendra Kumar is reportedly giving serious consideration.

Minister KP Mohan exhorted his chief to not fall for Pinarayi’s invitation-bait and forewarned him from breaking away from the United Democratic Front alliance.

At present, the Minister seems to be the lone voice of dissent in the Kerala JD(U), as most party leaders are dissatisfied with the diminishing level of importance reportedly being accorded to them within the ruling alliance.
