The Kerala government on Wednesday shifted two IAS officers following a public spat between them.

The decision  to transfer Raju Narayana Swamy and Biju Prabhakar was taken in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. “Raju Narayana Swamy was removed as he is not taking decisions in some of the files and Biju Prabhakar was removed considering his leave application,” a press statement of the cabinet decision stated.

Raju Narayana Swamy was the Secretary of the Agricultural Department whereas Biju Prabhakar was Director Agriculture. No fresh posting has been given to the officers.

“Tikaram Meena was appointed as the new Secretary. Director of Agriculture will be appointed later,” the statement said. Tikaram Meena was the finance expenditure secretary. The decision to remove the officers from the post was taken after the issue figured in the Assembly.

According to reports in Malayalam dailies no IAS officer will be appointed as Agriculture Director. One of the senior additional directors of the department will serve as the director for now. A decision regarding fresh postings of Raju Narayana Swamy and Biju Prabhakar will be given in the next cabinet meeting.

On Tuesday Biju Prabhakar accused his senior Raju Narayana Swamy of targeting him. He alleged that his senior is trying to make him an accused in vigilance enquiries. He also alleged that Raju Narayana Swamy had summoned him, seeking an explanation on the posting of the wife of the Industries Minister's private secretary in Horticulture. Raju Narayana Swamy, however, went on to hit out claiming that he had all records with him to prove that Biju Prabhkar's IAS was conferred upon him violating rules.
