'Brutality, beastiality at its worst- Kannur Communists celebrate murder of RSS Karyakartha Biju, whom they beheaded. #JungleRajInKerala'

This is what Kerala BJP chief Kummanam Rajashekharan tweeted on May 13 along with a video that showed people celebrating on a narrow road. The video that has no audio showed people dancing and beating drums, but it was unclear when or where it has been taken.

Kummanam's allegation -- that the video showed CPI (M) workers celebrating the murder of RSS man Biju -- has raised hackles.

On Monday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the state assembly that Kummanam would face criminal proceedings if it was proved that the video he posted was false.

“There is no authenticity for the video. If it turned out to be fake, the police will have to file a case against Kummanam. It is not clear where it was taken,” CM said.

Kummanam had further tweeted that “Celebrating death is a CPI(M) hobby. Hanging dogs at the spot of Manoj's murder, victory march after K T Jayakrishnan's (RSS school teacher who was killed in front of students) judgement are instances.”
The BJP chief also said in another tweet that unleashing violence was the reason why CPI (M) was being obliterated from India.

On Monday, the police arrested three people in connection with Biju’s murder.

Pinarayi Vijayan told the assembly that the government will make all efforts to put an end to political violence in Kannur and that nobody can justify a murder.

“The local area committee where the murder took place has cleared said that the party was not involved in the (Biju’s) murder. We will be taking all possible measures to bring peace in the area,” CM said.

Choorakkadu Biju, a 35-year-old, was murdered in cold blood near Payyanur in Kannur on Friday.

The incident happened around 3pm on Friday, when Biju was attacked by a group of people who came in a car while he was traveling by bike. Biju was reportedly alone when he was attacked near a bridge at Palamkode. He died on the spot.

The police believe this could have been a case of revenge killing as Biju was the 12th accused in the murder of a CPI (M) worker, CV Dhanaraj. Dhanraj was hacked to death in July last year.
