Actor Keerthy Suresh, basking in the success of the Savitri biopic Mahanati, has now joined the sets of the Vijay – AR Murugadoss film, currently dubbed as Thalapathy 62.

Keerthy is believed to have joined the sets on Sunday and the makers have begun shooting a song with her and Vijay. This is the second time that Keerthy is acting opposite Vijay, after last year’s release Bairavaa. After shooting some important portions in Kolkata, the makers are currently shooting in Chennai.

Being bankrolled by Sun Pictures, AR Rahman has been officially signed on for the project, which will mark his reunion with Murugadoss after the Hindi version of Ghajini. Girish Gangadharan, the young lensman whose recent work includes Kali and Solo, is cranking the camera for this flick. National award winning editor Sreekar Prasad, who has worked with Murugadoss in projects such as Thuppakki and Spyder, is also part of the film.

It’s not yet known who is playing the antagonist and it looks like director Murugadoss wants to keep the identity of the actor a secret. However, several reports have hinted that veteran actor Radha Ravi and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar might be playing the baddies in the film. In his collaboration with Vijay in Kaththi, Murugadoss introduced Neil Nitin Mukesh to Tamil audiences as the film’s antagonist and he went on to leave a mark in a very well-written role. Therefore, it looks like we can expect another interesting villain.

All eyes are on Thalapathy 62 as the combination of Vijay and Murugadoss has set the bar very high. Two of Vijay’s best films in recent years have come from Murugadoss and it naturally has built high anticipation around their next project. It is believed that the project is being planned as a Deepavali 2018 release and might lock horns with Ajith’s Viswasam at the box office.
