Illegal posters and hoardings all over Hyderabad, especially on the occasion of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s 63rd birthday celebrations, are not only an eyesore, but they are also a source of distraction for motorists.

On the occasion of the CM’s birthday celebrations on Wednesday, illegal hoardings by GHMC corporators could be seen all over the city especially in areas like Hitec city, Khairtabad, Borbonda and Necklace Road.

Rajesh Kumar, a 26-year-old working professional told The News Minute, “As a citizen of Hyderabad, I feel very sad when the walls of flyovers are pasted with political party posters as its been painted and maintained by public money and also it's a great distraction for the people who drive two wheelers”.

“If the government is serious in the Swachch Hyderabad campaign, GHMC should not take any illegal hoardings for granted. We all need to pledge for a clean Hyderabad. People should also be responsible besides political parties.”

Places like CM Camp office at Begumpet and Secretariat were badly defaced by the illegal hoardings and posters.

In spite of the chief minister's request to party workers on his last birthday to desist from putting up posters in celebration, even the metro pillars and flyovers in the city have not been spared this time round.

People of Hyderabad, especially motorists have been complaining after a biker died last year when a hoarding fell on him during the COP11 summit.
