Stating that the next 60 days would be highly crucial for the Congress party, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy asked party cadre to work hard to win the upcoming elections.

Addressing the Congress party workers in a live interaction on Sunday, Uttam Kumar said that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao could stoop down to any level to win the polls and expressed his fears that the TRS could misuse official machinery, police, money and muscle power to indulge in large scale irregularities and influence the outcome of the polls.

"If you are able to reach the masses in the next 60 days and convince them about how they were cheated by the KCR government, then the Congress party will certainly win the next elections. Each and every second of the next 60 days will be valuable and you must spend them in reaching people through all means, especially social media," Uttam said.

Uttam also told Congress workers that they had two major challenges. They must ensure that the electoral rolls at their polling booth are free from all discrepancies and they should also check the functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) which will begin from September 26.

He said that the notification for election was likely to be announced in mid-October and polling could be held by November end.

“Therefore, the entire Congress cadre should be geared up to face and win next elections. The Congress party has a responsibility to expose the failures, inefficiency, corruption and dictatorial rule of the KCR family. People should be told how KCR has shattered the original dream of Telangana. He had no money or land to construct the promised double bed room houses for poor, but he got a palatial bungalow 'Pragathi Bhavan' constructed for his family. While poor passengers were forced to travel in old buses due to denial of funds to RTC, KCR purchased a luxury bus worth Rs 7 crore for himself. We must expose before every citizen as to how KCR gave preference to his personal comforts and luxury over the welfare of people. Telangana was formed for the betterment of four crore citizens and not just for four members of KCR’s family," he said.

"It is a do-or-die election for us. Congress party has granted statehood for Telangana and it is our duty to protect the interest of people of this state even if it costs our lives. Next 60 days are going to decide the future of Telangana and its people. Therefore, prove your loyalty and love for Telangana by ensuring victory of Congress party by giving a humiliating defeat to TRS," Uttam Kumar added.
