Karthick Naren made an impressive debut with his critically-acclaimed and highly successful crime-thriller Dhuruvangal 16 aka D 16. Earlier this month, it was announced that his second film Naragasooran, a suspense drama featuring an ensemble cast of Arvind Swami, Indrajith, Shriya Saran, Sundeep Kishan and Aathmika will release worldwide on August 31.

However, according to the latest news, the film has been postponed to September 13 and is most likely to lock horns with Sivakarthikeyan’s Seemaraja at the box-office. The exact reason for the postponement is yet unknown.

The film’s trailer was also unveiled on August 2 and it has received a good response. Without giving away too much of the plot, the trailer merely teases the viewers with suspense and intrigue.

At the trailer launch event, the entire team was all praise on the vision and clarity of 25-year-old Karthick Naren, who thanked his actors for believing in him.  Initially, the director had cast Aravind Saamy and Naga Chaitanya to play the lead roles.

However, as Naga Chaitanya has moved out of the project due to issues with the date, the director has roped in Sundeep to replace Naga Chaitanya's role. At the recently held trailer launch event, Arvind said that Karthick is the pride of not just Tamil cinema but Indian cinema and that he deserves to be celebrated.

The project started rolling from September 15 in Ooty last year and was predominantly shot inside a house. Apparently, Sundeep’s role was originally supposed to be played by Naga Chaitanya, who backed out in the last minute due to reasons yet unknown.

Going by the film’s first poster which was released in June, it’s said to be the story of a fallen demon. The film is a multilingual thriller and will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Ron Yohaan has composed the music.
